If you haven’t seen Langdon Tactical’s latest video, it is worth a watch. As longtime users of DA guns, Pistol-Training.com has always preached the superiority of the DA system. Ernest is one of the modern OG’s of the DA world, and is one of the very few guys I turn to when I have a shooting problem. DA is the way, whether it is a DA/SA gun, or an LEM type of gun.
Think about this for a second, especially if you are involved in testing and procurement for LE. Would you allow a 1911 type gun to be carried on duty? What if the cop in question decided to pin the grip safety (if it has one) and disengage the thumb safety? Safe to carry and use a cocked and locked gun with no safety? That’s what you are doing with striker fired guns, and the better the trigger, the worse it is.
If you can’t shoot a DA/SA gun to the level you want, come get some training! Especially in LE, absolute shooting performance is not the main issue though a DA will not hold you back. Overall safety is the issue, and that means handling a gun, often under stress, without causing a problem. Nothing helps a human do that better than a DA gun.
