The XRAY5 is SIG’s newest pistol optic and it packs a lot of innovation. As far as I know, this is the first pistol optic with no moving parts (other than the buttons on the side). There are no internal springs or screws to fail. This is the very definition of solid state and means that they have been able to sustain in excess of 100,000 rounds in testing without failure. It features a 225 pixel matrix. With only one pixel eliminated at a time, the battery life is comparable to other standard point source emitter red dots. Unlike other red dots sights, the lens is situated in the roof. This means that the front and rear glass are flat making for a clear sight path. Note the Grade 5 Ti shield on top of the sight which helps protect the lens which is beneath it. Here you can see the dot. The front and rear glass is flat and very clean.
